CK Artisans Clarification on Ledger Security News

CK Artisans, the authorized distributor of Ledger in Hong Kong, would like to clarify the security news related to the reseller CryptoBilis in Southeast Asia “CryptoBilis incident” and to provide accurate and clear information to customers and users in Hong Kong.

Ledger's statement on Oct 9th 20261 confirmed the discovery of an unauthorized hardware implant in Ledger device from one of its users and statement on Oct 10th 20262 further confirmed that the disclosed draining incident involves devices sold through the Southeast Asia reseller CryptoBilis. Ledger is currently contacting the affected users and conducting investigations with relevant authorities. CryptoBilis has confirmed having ceased all sales of Ledger devices.

For customer who purchased Ledger devices from CryptoBilis, Ledger recommends the following:

• Do not initiate set up on Ledger device purchased from Crypto Bilis.

• If you have already configured your device purchased from Crypto Bilis, consider moving your digital assets to a new Ledger Signer device that creates a new recovery phase. Please review instructions from Ledger support on first time setup.

• If you have concerns that your device was impacted by the CryptoBilis incident, please contact Ledger Support through the official site: http://support.Ledger.com.

• Never enter or restore a recovery phrase on a device bought from CryptoBilis, or into any website, app, or form. 

• Do not send the device to anyone before speaking with Ledger Support or local law enforcement. 

Ledger will NEVER contact customers and ask for your 24-word recovery phrase.

As for CK Artisans, security and customer confidence remain our absolute top priorities. We only sell genuine Ledger devices imported directly from Ledger to our customers or authorized resellers. We are following Ledger’s requirement and NEVER resell Ledger products returned by customers or authorized resellers under ANY circumstances. As a preventative measure, we have thoroughly inspected our physical Ledger inventory and records. Further review on control measures to strengthen our import, storage, handling, and delivery to authorized resellers and end customers are undergoing with an aim to increase security and customer confidence. 

CK Artisans advises customers in Hong Kong to purchase Ledger devices directly from CK Artisans, our Ledger authorized flagship store at HKTVMall and our authorized resellers, which are listed and updated in Ledger’s reseller page3 under Hong Kong region from time to time. 

CK Artisans will closely monitor the situation from Ledger. Further measures will be considered based on official information and recommendations from Ledger. Once confirmed, the company will inform customers, users and authorized resellers through our official communication channels.
